An auto theft was reported at a Vicksburg towing company Monday afternoon, police Sgt. Sandra Williams said.

A gray 1991 Mercury Grand Marquis, Mississippi plates “Mitty,” was reported stolen from Bell’s Towing, 1900 S. Frontage Road, at 4:25 p.m.

Williams said the car had been at the business since Oct. 9 when a Vicksburg patrolman had it towed after a traffic stop at Indiana Avenue and Interstate 20 West.

Vicksburg man jailed for weapon possession

A Vicksburg man was in the Warren County Jail this morning charged with possession of a weapon by a felon, records showed.

Oscar McNeil, 23, 514 Feld St., was being held on a $5,000 bond.
