A Vicksburg native and University of Mississippi student has placed third overall in the online Athlon Sports Sideline Spirit Contest for college cheerleaders and dancers.

Anna Taylor, 21, an Ole Miss Rebelette, received 14,186 votes in the final and fourth round of the contest. Taylor, who competed in the Southeastern Conference category of the College Bowl Championship Series, was among eight contestants in the final round. The winner was an Auburn University dancer who received 80,340 votes.

Taylor is a 2006 graduate of St. Aloysius High School and the daughter of Dr. Glen and Liz Taylor.
