Jeremy Edward Stokes and Angela Carol McRee were married at 5 p.m. Oct. 17, 2009, at Bay Springs Baptist Church in Bay Springs. Dr. Frank Harmon officiated at the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Tim and Carol McRee of Bay Springs. She is the granddaughter of Mamie McRee and the late B.R. McRee of Picayune and Cecil and Sally Bennett of Nicholson.

The groom is the son of Bobby and Cathy Stokes of Vicksburg. He is the grandson of Billy and Peggy Stokes, Bonnie Stokes and Joyce Hill, all of Vicksburg, and Norman and Geneva Powell of Bentonia.

Nuptial music was presented by Gina Gordon, pianist.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride’s chosen colors were navy blue, gray and white.

Maid of honor was Rachel Wilson of Atlanta. Bridesmaids were Lauren Smith of Oxford, Amy McLeod of Pearl and April Webb of Jackson. Honorary bridesmaids were Laura Gray and Melissa Martin, both of Bay Springs.

Clint Truesdell of Vicksburg served as best man. Groomsmen were Jeffery Stokes and Justin Stokes, brothers of the groom, of Vicksburg and Drew Lang of Ridgeland.

Ushers were Dale Yates and John Robert Ward, both of Vicksburg.

Flower girl was Vivian McRee, niece of the bride, of Wesson. Ring bearers were Lucas McRee and Trevor McRee, nephews of the bride, of Wesson.

A reception followed at the home of the bride’s parents. Tea girls were Lara Stokes and Lauren Eckert.

Guests were entertained with music by Jimbo & The Destroyers.

The couple will make their home in Vicksburg, where both are employed with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The bride is employed at Waterways Experiment Station, and the groom is employed with the Vicksburg District.

Breakfast

Linda Gordon, Sandra Lucas and Suzanne Herrington hosted a bridal breakfast at the Gordon home in Bay Springs on the morning of the wedding. Special guest was Susanna Baral.

Rehearsal dinner

On the eve of the wedding, the groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at the country estate of Ricky and Pam Ruffin in Stringer.

Bachelorette weekend

The bride was honored by her bridesmaids with a bachelorette weekend in Sandestin, Fla.

The ladies of Bay Springs Baptist Church hosted a bridal tea at The Emily House in Bay Springs.

Dinner

Matt and Jennifer Mallard hosted an engagement dinner at Bourbon’s Restaurant of Vicksburg.

Engagement party

Clint and Shannon Truesdell and John Robert Ward honored the couple with an engagement party at the Truesdell home.

Caren Peters and Trenna Powell hosted a miscellaneous bridal shower at the Peters home in Madison.

The couple was honored with an engagement party and garden shower at the home of Laura and Jody Gray in Bay Springs. Hosts were Laura and Jody Gray, Melissa and Steve Martin and Tyra Todd.

Chelsea Whitten, Jenny Smith, Laurie Bagby, Deberay Carmichael and Brandy Ellison hosted a miscellaneous shower at the bride’s workplace.
