Dorothy D. Crain died Thursday, Dec. 31, 2009, at Promise Hospital. She was 85.

A native of Franklinton, La., Mrs. Crain had lived in Vicksburg for more than 50 years. She was retired from Vertec Chemical Co. where she had been an executive secretary. She was a member of Bowmar Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, George Crain of Vicksburg; two sons, Dennis Crain of Abbeville, La., and John Crain of North Little Rock, Ark.; six grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.

Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Bowmar Baptist Church with the Rev. Terry White officiating. Visitation will be at the church Monday from noon until the hour of service.
