David W. Butler

David W. Butler died Saturday, Jan. 9, 2010, at Central Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. He was 40.

Mr. Butler was a self-employed roofer. He was of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Prentiss Sr. and Izora B. Coleman; two brothers, Herman P. Butler and Eugene Gilmore; his maternal grandparents, Tommy Caldwell and Emma Parker; his paternal grandparents, Prentiss Coleman and Mary Handy; and an aunt, Willena Smith.

Survivors include one daughter, Brittany Butler of Jackson; seven brothers, Joseph C. Conner, Alex Jackson, Albert Butler and Donald Garrett, all of Vicksburg, Prentiss B. Coleman of Pearl and John Butler and Danny Butler, both of Corona, Calif.; four sisters, Hattie B. Jones of Lexington, Md., and Willie Mae Stevenson, Mary Brown and Carolyn Barnes, all of Vicksburg; and other relatives, including Ida Mae Evans, Rosie Lee Coleman and members of the Coleman, Brown, Butler, Evans, Turner, Smith and Slaughter families.

W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
