Services for Essie B. Ellis Procter will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at New Mount Pilgrim M.B. Church with the Rev. Henry J. Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon until 6 p.m. Friday at Lakeview Memorial Funeral Home.

Mrs. Procter died Saturday, Jan. 9, 2010, at Bethany House Hospice in Auburn, Ala. She was 80.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Alfred James Procter; her mother, Lela Gross Dodd; her father, Spencer Randle Dodd; and a brother, David Dodd.

A Vicksburg native, she is survived by two daughters, Dorothy Ann Procter of Monroe, La., and Al Sylvia Procter of Valley, Ala.; two sisters, Mary Lee Brown of San Jose, Calif., and Rena Jackson Ratliff of Memphis; a brother, Dandri Jackson of Memphis; her stepmother, Cora Lee Dodd of Vicksburg; one grandson; one great-grandson; and nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
