Georgia Allen Boykins died Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2010, at Belmont Place. She was 97.

Mrs. Boykins was born in Allen, Miss. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Ernest A. Boykins Sr.; and her parents, Guy and Phoebia Gibson Allen.

Survivors include three sons, Ernest A. Boykins Jr. of Hattiesburg, Lonnie L. Boykins of Vicksburg and Danny J. Boykins of Indianapolis; two daughters, Cherrie B. McClelland of Vicksburg and Phoebe Boykins Dixon of Washington, D.C.; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and members of the Miller, Gibson, Claiborne and Hicks families.
