Otis T. Ashley

ANGUILLA — Otis T. Ashley died Thursday, Jan. 7, 2010, at his home in Anguilla. He was 80.

Mr. Ashley served in World War II.

Survivors include his mother, Mottree Gipson of Anguilla; one son, Darryl Ashley of Chicago; five daughters, Sheila Ashley, Denise Ashley and Patricia Ashley, all of Chicago, Velma Ashley of Branson, Mo., and Laverne Ashley Cooper of St. Louis; three brothers, John Gipson of Chicago and Luphine Gipson and Moses Gipson, both of Anguilla; five sisters, Ida Ree Morris and Faye Harris, both of Chicago, Mottis Ashley of Colorado Springs, Colo., Edith Gipson of Anguilla and Addie Hardley of Decatur, Ga.; 26 grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Christian Light M.B. Church in Anguilla with the Rev. Harriman R. Trice officiating. Burial will follow at Anguilla Cemetery under the direction of Walker Funeral Home in Rolling Fork. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. Saturday until the service at the church.
