Two critical calls went against the Missy Gators and their poor free throw shooting also contributed to a frustrating division loss Friday. Vicksburg (12-6, 3-2) had a chance to take over first place in Division 4-6A but could only make 7-of-20 shots from the free throw line.

Alexus Stirgus had a fine overall game. She scored all 16 of her points in the second half. Thirteen came in the third quarter as Stirgus rallied the Missy Gators from a 10-point deficit. She also had seven assists and four steals.

A free throw by Shanequa Hill gave Vicksburg its last lead at 43-42 with five minutes to go. Clinton (15-6, 2-0) then scored the last seven points.

Mayfield ended up with 14 points and 16 rebounds.
