Mr. Key, Miss Burgess exchange vows Nov. 7

Jamie Richard Key and Cassie Newell Burgess were married at 5 p.m. Nov. 7, 2009, at the Southern Cultural Heritage Center. The Rev. Carey Stockett officiated at the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Smokey and Sherry Burgess of Vicksburg. She is the granddaughter of Joseph and Betty Newell of Meridian.

The groom is the son of Joe and Brenda Key. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. James Belton Buckner of Greenville and Nettie Carver of Vicksburg.

Given in marriage by her parents, the bride’s chosen colors were chocolate and burnt orange. Nuptial music was presented by Jane Joseph, pianist; and Lee H. Abraham and Grace Claire Cordes, vocalists.

Matron of honor was Heather Burgess Kealhofer, sister of the bride, of Vicksburg.

Bridal attendants were Lisa Martin Dennis, Jane Wyly Paris, Kara Adams Parmegiani, Cherry Dabney Robbins and Whitney Hudson Simmons, all of Vicksburg; Lindsay Hand Burgess of Hattiesburg; Jessica Ann Coleman of Clinton; and Ashley Michelle Morris of Silver Spring, Md.

The groom’s father served as best man.

Ushers were Mel Burgess of Clinton, Thad Everett Burgess of Hattiesburg and Gregory Scott Robbins of Vicksburg.

Flower girl was Dinah Ruth Britton of Vicksburg. Ring bearer was Jacob Samuel Kealhofer, nephew of the bride, of Vicksburg.

A reception followed the ceremony. Hostesses were Marlene McLaurin and Rose Dykes.

Guests were entertained with music by Dr. Zarr’s Amazing Funk Monster.

For a wedding trip, the couple traveled to Walt Disney World. They will make their home in Vicksburg.

The bride is a first-grade teacher at Dana Road Elementary, and the groom is a senior technician at Applied Research Associates.

Rehearsal dinner

The couple hosted a rehearsal dinner on the eve of the wedding at Roca Restaurant.

Showers

The bride was honored with a shower by Dana Road Elementary faculty and staff members. Hostesses were her co-workers.

Heather Kealhofer, Valerie Atwood, Kara Parmegiani, Whitney Simmons and Jessica Coleman hosted a miscellaneous shower at the Kealhofer home.

Jane Paris honored the bride with a lingerie shower at her home.

Cherry Robbins hosted a birdseed shower at Goldie’s Restaurant.
