Tallulah Academy sweeps Briarfield|Prep basketball

Tallulah Academy swept visiting Briarfield on Tuesday, with the girls winning 68-37 and the boys winning 69-58.

In the girls’ game, Megan Givens scored 22 points, Allie-Kate Gossett added 19 and Katie Book contributed 17 as the Lady Trojans (21-3, 5-1 in District 6-A) stayed on top of the district standings.

The boys, in second place in District 6-A, beat Briafield behind a career-high 29 points from John Robert Fortenberry. Jes Shivers added 22 points.
