Robinson, Robinson recite vows on Dec. 5

Frank James Robinson and Martha Jean Pierce Robinson were married at 4 p.m. Dec. 5, 2009, at Greater Mount Lebanon Church, 339 Alpine St. The Rev. Curtis Ross officiated at the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Marie V. Pierce and the late Leon Pierce of Vicksburg. She is the granddaughter of the late Johnny and Estella Horton of Gloster and the late Henry and Mary Pierce of Vicksburg.

The groom is the son of Johnny Robinson Sr. and Dorothy M. Robinson of Tallulah. He is the grandson of the late Katie Robinson of Tensas Parish and the late Riley and Eliza Whitaker of Tallulah.

The bride was given in marriage by her son, Dillard Robinson III. Her chosen colors were wine, ivory and platinum.

Nuptial music was presented by Deloris and Tommie Green, sister and brother-in-law of the bride.

Maid of honor was Mary A. Jones, sister of the groom, of Tallulah. Matron of honor was Barbara J. Moore of Atlanta.

Bridesmaids were Gloria K. Thomas, cousin of the bride, and Toni M. Green, niece of the bride, both of Vicksburg, and Lois Love, cousin of the groom, of Tallulah. Honorary attendant was Debra Pierce Robinson of Ridgeland.

Johnny Robinson Jr., brother of the groom, served as best man. Groomsmen were Joseph G. Pierce, brother of the bride, and Shirray Harris Sr., nephew of the bride, both of Vicksburg; and Willie L. Robinson, brother of the groom, and Sherman M. Jones, nephew of the groom, both of Tallulah.

Ushers were Tommie L. Green of Vicksburg and Jarrett Robinson of Ridgeland, nephews of the bride.

Flower girls were RaMiah Ross of Vicksburg and D’Zarria Sanders, great-niece of the groom, of Tallulah. Ring bearer was Shirray “Ray J” Harris Jr., great-nephew of the bride, of Vicksburg.

Bible carrier was Mason Thomas McArthur Watts of Vicksburg.

Haleigh Walton of Vicksburg served as junior bride. Junior groom was Marvel Amos of Vicksburg.

A reception followed at St. Mary’s Center. Hosts were Patricia Stamps, Mary Galtney, Felicia Mims, Sadie Randle, Rosalyn Johnson, Sandra Atkins, Mary Pierce, Cordelia H. Godfred and Jim Stirgus.

Tea girls were Ashunta Wright, Mary Wright and Asia Wright.

Guests were entertained with music by DJ Eric Hall.

Special assistants were Emma and Willie Adams, Cassandra Reed, Joy Thomas, Willie Walker, Pamela Durman and members of the Class of 1976.

For a wedding trip, the couple traveled to Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, Tenn. They will make their home in Vicksburg.

The bride is certified head teller at Trustmark National Bank and sings alto with the Robinson Quartet Gospel Singers. The groom is employed in maintenance at River Region Medical Center and Quality Inn & Suites.

Marie V. Pierce, Deloris P. Green and Peggy Pierce honored the bride with a miscellaneous shower at Greater Mount Lebanon Church fellowship hall.

Debora Kinnebrew, Deborah Smith and Kimberly Watts hosted a miscellaneous shower at Trustmark’s Mission 66 Branch.
