DELTA CITY — Bertha M. Gibson died Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2009, at Delta Regional Medical Center. She was 75.

Survivors include five sons, Dr. Don R. Gibson of Jacksonville, Ark., Ray Gibson of Greenville, the Rev. Glen Gibson of Charleston, S.C., James Gibson of Rolling Fork and the Rev. Phil Gibson of Hollandale; six daughters, Virginia Thomas of Chicago, Anita Bell, Teretha Gibson, Bridget Gibson, all of Delta City, Mary Duke of Anguilla and Martha Page of Hollandale; five brothers, L.T. Thomas of Panther Burn, Buck Thomas of Bell Glade, Fla., Ruben Thomas of Chicago and Roosevelt Thomas and Jessie Thomas, both of Indiana; three sisters, Dorothy Allison of Hollandale, Pearlean Williams of Panther Burn and Bobbie Nell Holt of Chicago; 30 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Mount Zion M.B. Church in Percy with George Bean officiating. Burial will follow at Caney Cemetery at Delta City. Visitation will be from 6 until 7 p.m. at Mitchell L. Walker Funeral Home.
