NEWELLTON — Evelyn Black died Saturday, Jan. 30, 2010, at Olive Branch Nursing Home in Tallulah. She was 92.

Mrs. Black was a native of Gilbert, La. and had lived in Newellton for many years. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church of Newellton.

She was preceded in death by her husband, I.V. Black; two grandchildren, Allan Black and Wayne Black; four sisters; and three brothers.

Survivors include four sons, Ferrall Black of Wales, England, Kirby Black of Newellton, Gary Black of Bastrop, La., and Larry Black of Rock Hill, S.C.; 15 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Legion Cemetery in Newellton with the Rev. Dennis Campbell officiating. Visitation will be tonight from 5:30 until 7:30 at Crothers Glenwood Funeral Home in Tallulah.

Pallbearers will be Rovert Dunbar, Kelly Black, Brian Black, Brad Black, Virgil Holder and Jerry Knapp.
