Billie Lou Yates

Billie Lou Yates died Friday, Feb. 5, 2010, at Central Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. She was 75.

Mrs. Yates was born and raised in Warren County and was a graduate of Jett High School. She was formerly employed at Merchants Bank. She and her husband owned and operated Jerry’s Appliances in Utica for 48 years. She was a member of the Utica United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Jerry Yates of Utica; two daughters, Beth Yates and Bonnie Hales and husband Bryan, all of Utica; a son, Roy Yates and wife Laurie of Clinton; a brother, Bennie Adams and wife Fran of North Port, Ala.; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Utica United Methodist Church with the Rev. Harold Manning officiating. Interment will follow at Cayuga Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 2 until 4:30 p.m. today at Glenwood Funeral Home in Utica.

Pallbearers will be Caleb Field, Corey Field, Jim Peters, Dale Yates, Tony Cain and Rick Price.

Honorary pallbearer will be Sammy White.

Memorials may be made to the Cayuga Cemetery Fund, in care of Helen Price, 3043 Old Port Gibson Road, Utica, MS, 39175, or the Utica United Methodist Church.
