Margery D. Wilks

Margery D. Wilks died Friday, Feb. 5, 2010, at River Region Medical Center. She was 81.

Born in Vicksburg, Mrs. Wilks was the daughter of the late Walter Scott Davis and Alma Gertrude Massey Davis. She was a graduate of Culkin Academy and a member of the I-20 Church of Christ.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Lillian Muirhead, Dorothy Lee Allen and Doris Bishop; and two brothers, Sproles Davis and Warren Davis.

She is survived by her husband, Herbert Wilks of Vicksburg; three daughters, Larue Brooks and husband Richard of Madison, Rhea Short and husband Jim of Paragould, Ark., and Kathy Dunaway and husband Richard of Vicksburg; seven grandchildren, Carley Jones, Marci Gray, Lanie Brooks, Ashleigh Givens, Marcus Short, Heather Ayers and Rick Dunaway; and six great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Riles Funeral Home with Wade Hammack and Reggie Crawford officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 until 4 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Warren Jones, Jason Gray, Rick Dunaway, Marcus Short, Michael Givens and Chad Ayers.
