Susie Webb Sibley

Susie Webb Sibley died Friday, Feb. 5, 2010, at her home in Vicksburg. She was 89.

Mrs. Sibley was a native of Holly Bluff and had lived in Vicksburg for many years. She was a member of the Oakland Baptist Church. She had worked at the Vicksburg Hospital and Sydney Building as a nurse, and at Fantasie Fare in Utica. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Elbert Sibley; her father, Richard Cody Richardson; her mother, Mary Emmer Molly Richardson; her son, H.C. Sibley; her daughter, Jessie Marie Stroot; and her great-grandson, William Vernon “Bill” McDonald.

Survivors include three sons, Robert Sibley, Wayne Sibley and Charles Sibley, all of Vicksburg; a stepson, Jesse Sibley of Logansport, Ind.; three daughters, Peggy Nezat of Raceland, La., and Mary Ann Mathes and Susie Pettway, both of Vicksburg; a stepdaughter, Jewel Graham of Paducah, Ky.; 16 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Glenwood Chapel in Vicksburg, with the Revs. Kevin Marr and Justin Rhodes officiating. Burial will be at Green Acres Memorial Park.

Visitation will be from 5 until 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Ray Mathes, Robbie Sibley, John Mathes, Joshua Mathes, Tyler Robison, Trent Smith, Travis Sibley and Jeremy Robison.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Paul Pierce III, Rocky Wills, Avery Mathes, Hecker DeLeon, Jason Sibley, Bill McDonald, Brandon Smith and Rick Arnold.

Memorials may be made to Camellia Hospice and Oakland Baptist Church.
