Emma Kate Wade-Forrest

Emma Kate Wade-Forrest died Thursday, Jan. 28, 2010. She was 68.
Mrs. Wade-Forrest was born in Vicksburg to Robert Curtis Sr. and Emma Elizabeth Curtis. She attended St. Mary’s Catholic School and graduated from Vicksburg Business College. She was secretary at Grove Street Elementary School for many years and later served as senior resource advocate at the Antioch Community Center.
She attended St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
Mrs. Wade-Forrest was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Martha Jean Cooper; one brother, Robert Curtis Jr.; and a niece, Talina D’shun Curtis.
Survivors include two sons, Alvin Wade and John M. Wade Jr.; three daughters, Cynthia Choperena, Kay Rose Bradford and Dawatha Lee; two brothers, Charles Curtis Sr. and Eddie Curtis Jr.; three sisters, Connie Bingham, Rose Curtis and Margarite Farrell; six grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Services were Feb. 1 in San Francisco, Calif.
A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Church of Christ, 725 Mission 66 in Vicksburg. Repast will follow in the fellowship hall of the church.
Memorials may be made to the American Diabetic Association or the American Heart Association.
