PONTIAC, Mich. — Eugene Smith died Saturday, Feb. 6, 2010, at Select Specialty Hospital in Pontiac, Mich. He was 65.

Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his parents, Ananias Smith and Lee Dora Smith; his grandmother, Julia Webber; one sister, Gloria Stein; two brothers, Robert Smith and Odis Smith; and two nieces, LeDoris Fields and Kawya Moore.

Survivors include one daughter, Eugenia D. Pea of Prairieville, La.; one son, Eugene D. Sanders of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; five sisters, Irma Lee Smith and Carolyn Jenkins, both of Vicksburg, Sandra Faye Williams and Mary Moore, both of Saginaw, Mich., and Dorothy Hargrove of Anaheim, Calif.; two brothers, Ananias Smith and Charles Smith, both of Vicksburg; two grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.

Services will be at 3 p.m Saturday at St. James M.B. Church. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of Robbins Funeral Home. Visitation will be from noon until 8 p.m. today at Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home in Pontiac.
