RAYMOND — Gladys E. Champion died Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2010, at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson. She was 81.

Mrs. Champion was born and raised in Terry and had lived in Raymond for 50 years. She attended Hope Point Church in Pearl.

She is survived by her son, Billy M. Champion of Raymond; a daughter, Carleen Chadwick of Raymond; six sisters, Lou E. Peusche and Zelphia Shearet, both of Jackson, Laverna Broome and Jerry Case, both of Terry, Joyce Lawson of Braxton and Faye McCord of Brandon; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Services were at 10 a.m. today at Glenwood Funeral Home Chapel in Utica with the Rev. Betty McCarty officiating. Burial followed at the Palestine Cemetery.
