Residential, vehicle burglaries reported

Six burglaries were reported in the city and county Monday and during the weekend.

A wedding ring set valued at $640 was reported missing at 11:15 a.m. Monday from an apartment at the Park Residences & Bienville Apartments, 4223 Interstate 20 Frontage Road.

A Kenmore washing machine valued at $320 was reported missing at 2:30 p.m. Monday from a home in a the 200 block of North Locust Street.

On Friday, an LG 50-inch flat-screen TV valued at $2,500, a .40-caliber pistol, a .357-magnum pistol, four bottles of liquor valued at $52 and a Dewitt Tool set valued at $70 were reported missing at 7:27 p.m. from an apartment at The Ridge Apartments, 420 Lake Hill Drive.

A Makita gas-powered saw valued at $1,300 and a saw valued at $250 were reported missing at 3 p.m. Monday from a storage shed behind a home in the 300 block of Skyview Lane.

A purse valued at $20 and its contents including $650, a pair of gold hoop earrings valued at $35, a 10-carat gold ring valued at $70, a wallet valued at $5, an unknown number of silver dollars and other personal items were reported missing at 6:36 p.m. from Ameristar Casino, 4146 Washington St.

Separately in the city and county, two auto burglaries were reported Monday.

A Savant audio system valued at $218 was reported missing at 8:56 a.m. from a 1999 Chevrolet Tahoe at Jones Body Shop, 1100 Vanderbilt St.

A .25-caliber Bauer pistol valued at $250 was reported missing at 6:36 a.m. from a 2008 GMC Canyon in the 4700 block of Nailor Road. A brown leather holster was also missing but recovered from the yard.

Two other thefts had been reported earlier Monday within a block on Nailor.

Wrecks send two for medical treatment

Two one-vehicle wrecks on Interstate 20 near Washington Street during the weekend sent two people to the hospital.

Jimmie Marshall, 21, 1336 East Ave., was taken to River Region Medical Center, where he was treated and released, hospital spokesman Allen Karel said. The wreck was reported at 3 a.m. Friday.

Lauren Winston, 19, 413 Mitchell Lane, also was treated and released after a wreck at 7:03 a.m. Sunday.

No information on the wrecks was available.

Cash box missing from tax offices

A business burglary was reported early this morning.

A cash box with an undetermined amount of cash was reported missing at 1:30 a.m. from Taylor’s Audit & Tax Service, 4402 Halls Ferry Road.
