Warren County Board of Supevisors agenda items

Meeting Thursday:
• Approved a design contract with Engineering Resource Group Inc. that will lead to new light fixtures and an air conditioning system for Warren County-Vicksburg Public Library and the Board of Supervisors office. The bid totaled 9 percent of the construction bid, yet to be awarded. The project will be funded with $212,800 in federal stimulus money from the U.S. Department of Energy.
• Heard no comments during a public hearing concerning proposed abandonments of parts of Old Oak Ridge, Herman and Muddy Bayou roads. Each segment totals between .14 and .26 of a mile and came at the request of property owners in each area.
• Appointed Shane Quimby and Jeff Harold to fill the unexpired terms of Don Stauble and Susan Beard on the Culkin Volunteer Fire Protection District Board.
• Approved $650 in advertisements, $550 of which will go to football programs for Vicksburg and Warren Central high schools and $100 for the 150th anniversary of Mount Solomon Baptist Church.
• Approved payments up to $6,000 to buy out landowners near Bazinsky Road, near the site of a pending bridge replacement.
• Authorized registration fees for two road department employees to attend the Mississippi Mosquito and Vector Control seminar in Jackson.
• Approved advertising for the operations officer position in the emergency management agency.
