Services for Derrick Dewayne Stamps Jr. will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at the City Auditorium with the Rev. Curtis Ross officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m. with the family being present from 6 until 7 at Lakeview Memorial Funeral Home.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Haywood Terrell; and great-grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Samuel E. Ellis and Mr. and Mrs. Robert J. Smith Sr.

Survivors include his daughter, Kaleigh Stamps of Vicksburg; his parents, Anesa Ellis and Derrick Stamps Sr. of Vicksburg; four sisters, Aneshia Stamps, Alexia Ellis, Frederica Stamps and Taylor Stamps, all of Vicksburg; a brother, Louis Ellis of Vicksburg; maternal grandparents, Corine Ellis and Louis and Rose Smith all of Vicksburg; paternal grandmother, Roberta W. Stamps of Vicksburg; other relatives and friends including the Byrd, Wilson, Woodson, Wildee, Jackson, Lee Ellis, Smith and Ross families.

Mr. Stamps died Sunday, Feb. 14, 2010. He was 18.

Mr. Stamps was a graduate of Warren Central High School where he played football, and he attended Hinds Community College. He was a member of Greater Mount Lebanon M.B. Church where he served as secretary of youth Sunday school during childhood.
