PORT GIBSON — Ronald Elbert Carpenter died Thursday, Feb. 11, 2010, at Patient’s Choice Hospital in Port Gibson. He was 41.
Mr. Carpenter was preceded in death by his mother, Julia Barnes-Carpenter.
He is survived by his father, William Kilroy Carpenter of Pearl; a sister, Gwendolyn Hicks of Jackson; his paternal grandfather, Aaron Carpenter of Grambling, La.; three stepbrothers, Julian Butler of Chicago, Cory Butler of Georgia and Timothy Butler of Kansas City, Kan.; four stepsisters, Kimberly Butler, Heather Butler and Ashley Butler, all of Pearl, and Jennifer Butler of Georgia; and aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at King David Baptist Church in Hermanville. Burial will follow at Thompson Memorial Garden Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 until 6 p.m. Friday at Thompson Funeral Home in Port Gibson and Saturday at the church from noon until the service.
