Althea Jones Allen

TALLULAH — Althea Jones Allen died Saturday, Feb. 20, 2010, at Madison Parish Hospital. She was 74.

Mrs. Allen was born in Waverly, La., and had lived most of her life in Madison Parish. She was a retired waitress and was a charter member of Parkview Baptist Church of Tallulah.

She is survived by four daughters, Edith Mitchell of Madison, Louise Glass of Tallulah, Mary Ann Vining of Ridgecrest, La., and Alice Carson of Sulphur, La.; two sons, James Jones of Tallulah and Billy Ray Jones of Decatur, Texas; one brother, Robert Walker of Calhoun, La.; one sister, Annie Lee Williams of Delhi, La.; 10 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church with the Revs. John W. Rushing and Ferre D’Cruz officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Tallulah. Visitation will be from 6 until 8 tonight at Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home in Tallulah.

Pallbearers will be Harold Bolton, Don Butler, Bubba Panquin, Joe Jobe, Patrick Cobb and Clint Johnson.

Honorary pallbearers will be grandchildren and Dr. L.P. “Pops” Neumann Jr.
