James Harrison Sr.

EAGLE LAKE — James “Jim” Harrison Sr. died Sunday, Feb. 28, 2010, at River Region Medical Center. He was 82.

Born in Florence, Mr. Harrison lived in Natchez for 15 years and had been a resident of the Vicksburg and Eagle Lake areas since 1966. He retired from Entergy after 34 years of service.

He was a member of Highland Masonic Lodge, and he was of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy H. Harrison of Eagle Lake; four sons, James “Jimmy” Harrison Jr. of Richland, Larry Harrison of Belzoni, Ronnie Harrison of Brookhaven and Bob Harrison of Eagle Lake; 11 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Glenwood Funeral Home with the Rev. H. Bryan Abel officiating. Burial will be at 12:30 at Florence City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 until 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Kevin Harrison, Stephen Harrison, Robert Harrison Jr., Jason Harrison, Mike Harrison and Jason Cooper.

Honorary pallbearers will be Chris Ratliff, Morris Ratliff, Clyde Robertson, Jack Jordan, Jack Bryant, Webb Shivers, E.O. Oakley, Charlie Weber, Douglas Dubuisson and Guy Crawford.

Memorials may be made to the Blair E. Batson Children’s Hospital.
