Cash, DVD players missing from homes

Change and a pair of DVD players were reported missing Monday in separate business and residential burglaries in the city, said Sgt. Sandra Williams.

About $9 in change was reported missing from Ace Muffler Shop, 1300 Clay St. at 6:42 a.m., said Williams, while two DVD players valued at $40 each were reported missing at 6:03 p.m. from a home in the 2500 block of Halls Ferry.

A Warren County man and woman were in the Warren County Jail this morning without bond following their arrests Monday for possessing more than 15 grams of pseudoephedrine, jail records show.

Corey R. Maples, 34, 900 Wells Road, and Anna C. Truelove, 28, 80 Chance Lane, were arrested by Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics agents, records show. Pseudoephedrine is a common precursor chemical to cook methamphetamine. Maples was also charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm.

Thousands missing in two burglaries

Tens of thousands of dollars worth of tools, fishing equipment and electronics were among items missing in two residential burglaries reported in Warren County on Sunday.

Deputies responded to a burglary complaint at 9:04 Sunday evening in the 200 block of Johnson Road, where the homeowner reported missing a Blue Miller wire welding machine valued at $1,300, 50 feet of black welding leads valued at $500, a Husqvarna chain saw valued at $689.95, a red Redmax weed trimmer valued at $499, five Uglystick fishing rods and reels valued at $800, an orange Jet come-a-long valued at $650, a silver Snap-On air impact wrench valued at $500, a Milwaukee band saw valued at $335, a Snap-On cordless air impact wrench valued at $400, an amplifier valued at $500, welding leads and a torch valued at $198.80, a winch and roller valued at $1,979.99, a MSD ignition system valued at $500, five Abu-Garcia fishing reels valued at $865, a volt meter valued at $50 and five gallons of gas valued at $20. 

At 12:54 p.m. Sunday, deputies took a report of a residential burglary in the 500 block of Stenson Road, at which two Sony PlayStation 2 game consoles, one silver and one black, were reported missing. Combined value of the game systems was $125. Also reported missing was a maroon LG Senon cell phone valued at $350 and a Nokia cell phone valued at $30.
