A Vicksburg man was released from River Region Medical Center this morning after being treated for multiple stab wounds, police Sgt. Sandra Williams said.

At about 5:21 a.m., Herry Lyons Jr., 29, 1201 South St. Apartment 208, was cut on his shoulders and arms during a fight with his live-in girlfriend, Jennifer Linear, 19, Williams said.

“Someone at the (River Chase) apartment complex heard screams and phoned 911,” said Williams. “The victim attempted to drive himself to River Region. While en route, he had a wreck.”

She said Lyons ran into a bridge on the U.S. 61 North on-ramp from Interstate 20 several times before he reached the hospital.

At least two children were at the home during the fight, Williams said. They were not reported injured.

Linear was arrested at home and charged with domestic aggravated assault, Williams said. She was being held at police headquarters this morning without bond pending an initial appearance in court.

Details on the children were not available.
