Tunica tourism exec to speak at VAMP

Webster Franklin, president and CEO of the Tunica Convention and Visitors Bureau, will be the speaker at the April meeting of the Vicksburg Association of Marketing Professionals.
The meeting will be at noon April 6 at Ameristar Casino’s Heritage Buffet.
Franklin began his career in the White House as an executive assistant and personal aide to the wife of Vice President Dan Quayle during the President George H.W. Bush administration.
Afterward, he became the first paid executive director of the Tunica County Chamber of Commerce, and was responsible for creating and funding the Tunica C.V.B., where he has served as president and CEO since 1997. In 2004, he was inducted into the Mississippi Tourism Hall of Fame and the Tunica Tourism Hall of Fame.
