EDWARDS — Services for George “Mop” Morrison Sr. will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Friendship M.B. Church in Edwards. Burial will follow at Mount Moriah Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon until 6 p.m. Friday at Lakeview Funeral Home.

Mr. Morrison died Friday, March 26, 2010, at his home. He was 69.

He was born in Learned to Claxton and Marie Kimble Morrison. He had worked at Koestler’s Bakery in Vicksburg, Jackson Ready Mix in Jackson, the Edwards Cotton Gin, Tyson Foods in Bovina and for Ray Canada of Edwards. He was a member of Friendship M.B. Church in Edwards.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Claxton Morrison II.

Survivors include one son, George Morrison Jr. of Edwards; four daughters, Thelma Williams, Bonita Morrison and Takita Morrison, all of Edwards, and Tammy Morrison of Jackson; his companion, Bettie Scott; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and friends and other relatives, including Bertha Kimble Proctor of Edwards.
