Debbie Ann Fowler Murphy

Debbie Ann Fowler Murphy died Wednesday, March 31, 2010, River Region Medical Center. She was 48.

Born in Vicksburg, Mrs. Murphy attended St. Aloysius High School and was a graduate of Warren Central High School. She graduated from the University of Mississippi, where she received a degree in accounting. She was a former employee of Blue Cross Insurance Company and SAKS Inc.

Mrs. Murphy was a member of the Vicksburg Exchange Club, serving in the club’s Child Abuse Prevention Center program. She was a member of Alpha Delta Pi sorority and St. Michael Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her father, Neal Fowler.

She is survived by her husband, Thomas E. Murphy Jr. of Vicksburg; a stepdaughter, Kathleen Murphy of Vicksburg; her mother, Shirley Anita Fowler of Vicksburg; four brothers, Rocky Fowler of Vicksburg, Mike Fowler of Conway, Ark., Paul Fowler of Gladewater, Texas, and Brian Fowler of Fishers, Ind.; her caregiver, Millie Lewis; and nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Michael Catholic Church with the Rev. P.J. Curley, pastor, officiating. Burial will be at Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of Riles Funeral Home. Visitation will be at the church Monday from 9:30 a.m. until the service.  

Pallbearers will be Nathan Fowler, Brannon Fowler, Robert Fowler, Casey Fowler, Kyle Fowler, Blake Boren, Bo Morrissey, Bobby Amborn and John Hite.
