Alfred Gordon Batchelor

Alfred Gordon Batchelor died Friday, April 2, 2010, at Wesley Medical Center in Hattiesburg. He was 88.

Mr. Batchelor lived in Vicksburg and Bovina for most of his life. He was a career soldier, having attained the rank of master sergeant and was a decorated veteran of World War II. He served in the 82nd Airborne Division. Following the service, he worked for Broward Correctional Institution. He was a member of the VFW and St. Alban’s Episcopal Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Earl Batchelor.

Survivors include a brother, George Batchelor of Tallulah; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside service will be Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. at St. Alban’s Cemetery in Bovina.
