Bovina Elementary’s Cooper Madison, 6, is fitted for a safety helmet by Renne Smith, a behavioral specialist at the school. Students received helmets through the Traumatic Brain Injury/Spinal Cord Injury Trust Fund and a book from Reading is Fundamental. The gifts were part of a program at Bovina called Protect and Strengthen Your Brain. Cooper is the son of Jay and Laura Dow Madison.
