Flashes pound Mize in 6 innings|Prep baseball

Regan Nosser hit a grand slam in the fifth inning to key St. Aloysius’ second straight win Friday night, 13-2 win over Mize. Nosser’s slam gave the Flashes (13-4) a 9-2 lead.

Nosser also had a double and a single to pace St. Al. Pierson Waring had a home run and a double to aid the effort. Josh Eargle had three hits, including two doubles, and an RBI. Carlisle Koestler had an RBI double while Stephen Evans had two hits.

Evans went 3 1/3 innings in relief to grab the win and move to 7-2 on the season. He struck out eight and allowed just two hits.

St. Al (13-4) travels to play Class 5A powerhouse Ridgeland today and will face No. 1 ranked Sumrall on Tuesday night. Sumrall has won 66 consecutive games, already a state record and 10 short of the national mark.
