Edith Rayborn Davis Lancaster

SUMRALL — Edith Rayborn Davis Lancaster of Sumrall died Tuesday, April 20, 2010, at Bedford Care Center in Hattiesburg. She was 83.

Mrs. Lancaster was a former longtime employee of Gayfer’s Department Store in Biloxi. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Long Beach.

She was preceded in death by a husband, Coy Davis; and her parents, Hubert and Ella Lott Rayborn.

She is survived by her husband, Hugh Lancaster of Brandon; two daughters, Brenda Hawkins of Vicksburg and Betty Chancellor of Hattiesburg; two sons, Jerry Davis and Steve Davis, both of Mississippi; three sisters, Wanda Griner McDowell of Columbia, Barbara Courtney of Sumrall and Alyen Batory of Detroit; two brothers, Eustes “Bud” Rayborn and Kermit Rayborn, both of Sumrall; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Private services were today. Burial was directed by Hulett-Winstead Funeral Home of Hattiesburg.
