City man arrested for pot possession

A Vicksburg man was jailed Sunday evening on a felony marijuana possession charge and later released from the Warren County Jail on a $10,000 bond.

Shawnderrick Qualls, 18, 1855 Standard Hill Drive, was arrested by police at 6:44 p.m. following a traffic stop in the 1900 block of Baldwin Ferry Road while police responded to a complaint drug activity, said police Lt. Teen injured in wreck on Countryside Road

A Vicksburg teen was injured in a one-vehicle rollover early Sunday morning in the 100 block of Countryside Road.

At about 1:45 a.m. a passenger, Hannah Miller, 14, 501 Countryside Road, was ejected when a 1994 Dodge pickup driven by Dani McKay, 16, 395 Boy Scout Road, rolled over, Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace said.

The sheriff said McKay was headed east on Countryside, between China Grove Road and Mississippi 27, and lost control of the vehicle in a curve on the gravel road. The pickup turned over and came to a stop on the north shoulder, he said.

Miller was treated and released from River Region Medical Center, hospital spokesman Allen Karel said.

Two other passengers, Zachary Boyd, 15, 2929 U.S. 80, and Alexis Patterson, 15, 115 Melissa Drive, were not reported injured, Pace said.
