St. Aloysius won its Class 1A tennis playoff opener against Resurrection 6-1 on Monday and will advance to the South State Finals.

Austin Mathis won boys’ no. 1 singles 6-1, 6-2. Ashliegh Piazza won girls’ no. 1 singles 6-2, 6-1. Steven Cialione and Michael Foley won no. 1 boys’ doubles 6-4, 6-0.

Carlton Cambell and Aaron Mathis won no. 2 boys doubles 6-0, 6-0. Brianna Beesley and Jean-Marie Mabry won no. 1 girls’ doubles 6-1, 6-1 while Victoria Mekus and Kori Vessell won no. 2 girls doubles 6-1, 6-2.
