PORT GIBSON — Alma Bernice Williams died Friday, April 23, 2010, at Claiborne County Senior Care. She was 83.

Mrs. Williams was a member and mother at Pine Grove Christian Church in Port Gibson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Aurelius Williams Sr.; her parents, Jessie and Zadie Brandon-Cook; five sisters, Ella M. Scarbrough, Jessie M. Warner, Minnie L. Warner, Mae B. Cook and Julia Brothers; and two grandchildren, Jasmine Howard and Jennifer Howard.

She is survived by two sons, Aurelius M. Williams of Vicksburg and Earnest Williams of Port Gibson; two daughters, Lizella Fields of Port Gibson and Edna Howard of Biloxi; two grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a number of stepgreat-grandchildren; and aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives, including Curley Short and Kim Hyder, both of Port Gibson.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Pine Grove Christian Church with Elder James Devine officiating. Burial will follow at McCay Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 until 6 p.m. Friday at Thompson Funeral Home of Port Gibson and Saturday at the church from 10 a.m. until the service.
