Marie Wiggins Robinson

MEMPHIS — Marie Wiggins Robinson, formerly of Jackson, died Monday, April 26, 2010, in Memphis. She was 70.

Mrs. Robinson was a retired teacher and had worked at Carter Elementary in Jackson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Annie Ree Wiggins; and two brothers, Willie Miller and Charlie “Boy” Richardson.

Survivors include two sons, Wardell Robinson of Los Angeles and Lenard Robinson of Cordova, Tenn.; seven sisters, Doristine Gable, Sadie Mae Edwards and Edna Hunter, all of Chicago, Elizabeth Smith and Vera Halley, both of Indianapolis, Juanita Swinnie of Jackson and Hazel Reed of Redwood; a brother, Willie Wiggins Jr. of Chicago; and grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives, including members of the Jones, Williams and Davis families.

Services will be at noon Monday at Joe Ford Funeral Home, 1616 Winchester St. in Memphis. Burial will follow in Memphis.
