Air Force Airman Thorne A. Sims has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. The eight-week program included training in military discipline, Air Force core values, physical fitness and basic warfare principles. He also earned credits toward a degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

A 2009 graduate of Warren Central High School, he is the son of Anthony and Cassandra Terry of Vicksburg.
