Evans is St. Al’s go-to guy

Heading into Game 3 of a first-round playoff series with Edinburg, St. Aloysius coach Clint Wilkerson had a big decision to make.
He had four pitchers rested and ready to go. He could use any combination of them to cobble together seven innings and give his team a chance to win. Or he could bring back Stephen Evans, who had thrown more than 100 pitches and been knocked around just two days earlier.
It was one of the easiest choices Wilkerson made all series. He went with Evans, his ace, and was rewarded with a three-hit shutout that was the latest chapter in a book of legendary playoff performances.
