Tornado victims offered free legal aid

The Mississippi Bar’s Young Lawyer Division Disaster Legal Assistance Committee will offer free legal assistance to victims of the April 24 tornado, a release Thursday from the MBA said.

Low-income individuals in Yazoo, Choctaw, Holmes, Attala, Warren, Monroe and Union counties may contact the committee at 1-877-691-6185 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, as volunteer attorneys will respond to legal questions.

The assistance is being offered in conjunction with FEMA and MEMA.
