A Vicksburg artist has received recognition for a photograph she took while on a trip to California.

Shu H. Chang received the 2010 Merit Award during the Meridian Museum of Art’s 37th Bi-State Exhibition. Her black-and-white photo, called “Mirror Image,” is two pictures, fused together, of a highway overpass in Oakland.

The juried contest ran from March 17 to May 1. It was open to artists in Mississippi and Alabama. A total of 277 entries was submitted.
