Lila Paulette Hall

PENSACOLA, Fla. — Lila Paulette Hall died Saturday, May 8, 2010, in Pensacola, Fla. She was 49.

Paulette was a native of Vicksburg and a 1979 graduate of Vicksburg High School, where she was a cheerleader and member of the National Honor Society. In her junior year, she competed in the state finals for Miss United Teenager and was selected by her teachers as state representative to Ole Miss.

Paulette studied dance under the direction of Amanda Swett for 14 years; at the Jackson Ballet Guild School under nationally recognized Thalia Mara; and in the summer months under the direction of Ole Fatum of the Royal Danish Ballet, Copenhagen Cella Serra. She then opened her own studio in Vicksburg, the Paulette Hall School of Dance, before moving to Jackson to pursue a career as a paralegal.

For the past 11 years, she had been making her home in Pensacola.

She is survived by her parents, George and Bea Hall and Donald and Bettye Antoine, all of Vicksburg; one sister, Janet H. Fernandez of Milton, Fla.; and two nephews and one niece.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Cedar Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Brian Ivey officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Glenwood Funeral Home. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 9 a.m. Friday until the service.
