The sixth annual Miss Mississippi’s Outstanding Teen pageant will kick off June 3 in Vicksburg.

A total of 32 young women from across the state will compete for the crown. Last year, 34 competed. The pageant, sponsored by the Miss Mississippi Corporation, is open to girls ages 13 to 17.

“This is a wonderful program as a steppingstone to another program” — the Miss Mississippi contest, which is open to ages 17-24 — said Kathryn Resio, executive director of the teen pageant.
