A Vicksburg CPA firm and one of its associates have been recognized by the Mississippi Business Journal.

May & Company is runner-up in the Small Business category for the Best Places to Work in Mississippi award. The annual award was created in 2005 to recognize companies with a positive working environment and high employee retention. Winners were chosen based on employee surveys.

Also, May & Company’s H. Riley Nelson was named one of the journal’s Top 40 Under 40, which recognizes young professionals. Nelson is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Mississippi State University Warren County Alumni Association and the Vicksburg Catholic Schools Alumni Association. Nelson and his wife, Jennifer, have a daughter. He is a member of St. Paul Catholic Church.

Also receiving the Top 40 Under 40 designation was former Vicksburg resident Joel Neely, who is vice president of Trustmark Bank in Ridgeland. In addition to its Vicksburg office, May & Company operates in Tallulah and Lake Providence, La., and in Millport, Ala.
