A Jackson animal shelter is hoping to cash in on money not spent on Super Bowl advertising.
CARA, the largest no-kill shelter in Mississippi, is one of 1,000 organizations nationwide in the running for the Pepsi Refresh Project, a grant source funded four months ago by the mega-company, which decided instead of buying a Super Bowl ad to empower good-deed-doers.
PepsiCo is giving away $1.3 million every month, with four levels of grants available — $5,000, $25,000, $50,000 and $250,000.
