Mixed Nuts, a group of local artists working in various media, will showcase the watercolors, acrylics and pen and ink works of Chester Martin during this month’s meeting, Thursday night from 5 until 7 at Peterson’s Art and Antiques on Washington Street.

Martin’s works often spotlight wildlife, one of his favorite subjects.

He has a master’s degree in wildlife and fisheries science from Texas A&M and is retired from Engineers Research and Development Center as a research wildlife biologist.

Additionally at the Thursday meeting, William Furlong will offer grilling tips, featuring a rub used by Beechwood Restaurant.
