Air Force Airman Matthew K. Mattson has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. The eight-week program included training in military discipline, core values, physical fitness and basic warfare skills. He also earned four credits toward an Associate in Applied Science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

A 2008 graduate of Vicksburg High School, he is the son of Marsha Pecanty of Vicksburg.
