The engagement of Kathleen Brown Shortridge of Billings, Mont., to Justin Davis Peters of Vicksburg is announced today. The wedding will be at 2 p.m. Aug. 7, 2010, at First Baptist Church of Vicksburg. A reception will follow. All relatives and friends are invited to attend.

Ms. Shortridge is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Everett Brown of Billings.

Mr. Peters is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Edgar Peters of Vicksburg. He is the grandson of Mrs. Davis A. Kelly of Shreveport, La., and the late Mr. Kelly and Mrs. Lenard F. Peters of Vicksburg and the late Mr. Peters.

The bride-elect is a graduate of Billings Central High School, where she was a four-year member of the State Championship gymnastics team.

The prospective groom is a 1991 graduate of Warren Central High School. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics from Mississippi State University and a Master of Divinity with Biblical Languages and a Master of Theology from Southwestern Theological Baptist Seminary.

Mr. Peters is a staff evangelist at First Baptist Church of Vicksburg.
